What You Will Be Doing

We are looking for a highly motivated Sales Manager who can both drive business in existing markets and geographies, and build and execute a plan for expansion. The right candidate will be a confident self-starter with the ability to quickly assimilate strategy and put it into action, someone who can collaborate with leadership to grow our customer base, by sharing our ambitious mission, and leveraging industry knowledge to convert long leads to lifetime customers. 

You will have exceptional verbal and written communication skills and the willingness to roll up your sleeves to turn strategy into revenue.  Our ideal candidate will have sales experience within the Architecture-Engineering-Construction (AEC) industry.

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

As a strategically minded sales manager, you’ll be focused on growing Modwall’s customer base, pipeline, and revenue through the following:.· 

  • Develop and Implement Strategy: In collaboration with the leadership team, craft an annual sales plan based on revenue goals plan that focuses on growth, and execute the plan by scaling customer segments and territories, beginning with Tech Workplace on the West Coast. Develop a strategy for showroom implementation and event sponsorship/attendance.
  • Be In the Marketplace: Be a brand ambassador at industry events and during customer interactions. Build pipeline by being in the market in our target geographic markets. Leverage your network to identify leads and convert them to sales pipeline. Prepare and deliver product presentations to potential partners and customers.
  • Create a Pipeline of new opportunities.  Drive revenue growth through new client acquisition, new referrals, sourcing and generating new leads.  As the sales manager, you are responsible for building a powerful pipeline of future opportunities through cold calling and relationship selling.
  • Assist with pricing to secure new Customers: Work with the engineering team to produce estimates and proposals for review by the team for issue. Collaborate with the marketing team for production of sales collateral, including sales presentations, proposals, product demos, training materials, catalogs, line brochures and more to support sales efforts and customer engagement.
  • Be a Trusted Advisor: Be a subject matter expert on Modwall products, our competitors, and the landscape of modular construction, interior architecture, and flexible design. Be able to read construction documents to identify opportunities to expand scope and to offer advice to the customer to establish Modwall as a partner in current and future projects.  
  • Document and Report Progress: Maintain existing customer relationships and develop new customer relationships through face-to-face visits; customer service efforts; and phone and email conversations within our CRM. Maintain a reportable pipeline and deal probability matrix, and report on our potential revenue timing against the plan. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 -7 years  professional experience in sales is required (preferably in commercial construction)
  • Proven experience in a fast-moving corporate, startup, or design consultancy environment
  • CRM experience with Salesforce, Zoho, Monday, or similar
  • Clear and compelling communication skills, with strong copy writing capabilities
  • Strong Business Intelligence Skills
  • Strong understanding of the building product industry, construction, and/or interior design
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to research, analyze, strategize and pursue new business opportunities in shifting markets and economies
  • Enthusiastic about traveling to meet with potential customers and service existing customers.
  • Great organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Subcontractor or materials provider and previous product sales experience is a plus
